Leaked Posters

The Scoop:

Two leaked ads for the Nintendo Revoloution, all sources seem to say 'posters'. The first leaked ad depicts a tag line: 'Think outside the box', wich some think is poking fun at XBOX, while others believe it is about the systems new controller. A release date is further down, March 2006, then the systems front and the Nintendo logo. It all looks very official and not the work of some fan at home.

The second ad was leaked in a smaller size and does not differ from much from the first, this time we see a symbol where the 'Think outside of the box' was seen in the first leak. The buzz about this one isn't as hopefull, it seems to be a mock-up of the first.

The following is NOT the news, these are my person opinions and beliefs.

My Take:

Ad 1: This seems very official, many people have dismissed it, but I myself am hesitant to do so. Why? Firstly, this image seems to be that taken with a digital camera off of an LCD screen, not a poster. The Nintendo logo gives this away with its radiance, it cannot simply be a poster. Why LCD? Because the image is fairly clear, other than the extreme colours of red which is the work of the digital camera it is clear. If this were an ordinary tube projection (TV or Computer Monitor) then you would see lines and many blurred colours.

Contrary to the belief a March 2006 release date is not impossible, Nintendo may have said that they will show everyone the final product at E3 next year, but then again, they didn't say if the final product would be out before then. This is good marketing, a release 2 months after the XBOX 360 kills its Halo franchise (the only one it has) and a few months before Sony's PS3 hits shelves. They would release then because with a low price it's not a huge shell out for gamers after the 360 and because they would hit the market before the PS3 and hope to have sold 2-3 million units before then.

Ad 2: This may or may not be fake, it also looks like it could have been taken off of an LCD screen, but it may have been doctored to look that way. If it is real then it is possible the ads could be leaked in succession (anyone say viral marketing Nintendo?), what I mean by that is if it is an LCD screen then perhaps this is one short 15 second Ad that Nintendo has created to start hype.

More as it comes to light.
